Pennsylvania Parks: A Day at Big Pocono State Park

What better way to end a day out with one of your closest friends, than to spend it taking in one of the best views of the Poconos from the Big Pocono State Park?

During the summer, you know, that season that occurred a few short months ago (I am very behind, I realize this. Moving on…), my friend Jody and I decided to go to the one of the nearest Pennsylvania state parks, Big Pocono State Park. I have hiked up to the peak of this particular park when I was young and I took Adam there in the fall, but this was my friend’s first time there. It really was a beautiful, clear, allergy filled visit! Continue reading

On Top of Marigot in Fort Louis

Our Unplanned Climb to the Top of St. Martin…Sorta

It sounded promising, but therein lies our bad decision. We are going to drive up to Pic du Paradis, the highest point in St. Martin….in this: Continue reading

A Day at One of the Country’s Biggest Classic Car Shows

Earlier this year we went to the Lehigh Valley Auto Show, where we got to see the newest automobiles on the market now, but this weekend we got to travel back in time. We went to the 52nd Annual Das Awkscht Fescht, the August Festival in Pennsylvania Dutch, where we got to see hundreds of classic cars and antique cars.

How to Survive a Hike to the Bottom of the Grand Canyon

I recently wrote about our disastrous hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, where we ended up sleeping in the rest house. Word of advice: do not be like us. Be prepared. Know what you are getting into and do not assume that you are too smart because chances are, you are not, like us. This is not your typical list with telling you to bring your first aid kits, trail maps, and such because, really that would be a given. These are things that we NEEDED, but forgot to bring when preparing for our hike. Below are our tips for hiking in the Grand Canyon!
