Look no further than Orient Bay!
If there is anything that St Martin in the Caribbean is known for (besides the nightlife, of course) is it’s beautiful beaches! I did not plan on spending this much of our vacation beach-side, but I cannot complain. We did our research before we arrived on St. Martin, but we wanted a local’s opinion.
During our flight to St. Martin we sat next to a resident of the island, who had immigrated to and lived on the island for the past six years. I asked her advice on best places to eat, best beaches, best places to go shopping, and anything else you could think of. She could not stop raving about one beach in St. Martin, Orient Bay:
Orient Bay is located near the French/Dutch border of St. Martin in the Caribbean. The beach has everything you could want: lounge chairs with umbrellas, bars (hello, beach side service!), restaurants, a bikini shop (you know, in case you forgot to bring one and show up naked), parasailing, jet skis, a nudest area and…peddlers. Okay, so maybe you don’t want the last part. But really, what more could you want?
Behind every great idea comes a great woman…with a not so great idea, occasionally…and this idea was one of those.
You see, sunset’s at St. Martin are usually reserved for Sunset Beach. Tourists pack up their car, drive to Sunset Beach, and sit on beach blankets waiting for the planes to fly into the airport. We, however, had a far better idea.
We made the last minute decision to ditch the norm and see the sunset at Pic du Paradis, the highest point in St. Martin. We heard that there was a road that lead up to it. It sounded promising, but therein lies our bad decision. We are going to drive up to Pic du Paradis, the highest point in St. Martin….in this:
Now this is a story all about how…travel insurance changed how we travel.
Let’s be real: I never in my life would have considered purchasing travel insurance. Why? Because I do not think ahead. I like to book, go, and be done. I have my plane ticket. Is that not enough?
Adam, on the other hand, was drawn immediately to the perks of travelers insurance. First there was the medical and dental coverage that travel insurance covers. Then there was the luggage protection, flight delay, and flight cancellation perks.
We might be a litttleeee behind in the blog world. Blame it on college! Time to play catch up! Oh and please forgive me for my amazing quality photography at this concert! I only took my phone.
Right before our trip to St. Martin and right after we went waterfall rappelling (I changed our July date TO waterfall rappelling) I found out Chris Brown would be coming to my area. Chris Brown? I love his music. While he may do some questionable things (as does many other celebrities), his music could make nearly anyone wanna get up and boogy. I just had to see him live!
So, after our trip to St. Martin, we went to Camden, New Jersey to see Chris Brown in the flesh. This was Adam’s first concert ever. The featuring artists were Fetty Wap, Omarion, Kid Ink, and Teyana Taylor.
As much as St. Martin is known for it’s beaches, it should also be known for it’s views. Pic du Paradis, Fort Louis, and Fort Amsterdam offer amazing expansive views! On clear days you get a glimpse of Saba (The Unspoiled Queen), Anguilla, and St. Barth’s from various locations on the island. We love places that are rich in history with amazing views and this one definitely offers both!
