I planned for this to be a 1950’s date with the throwback of the 1950’s theme restaurant (Cheeburger Cheeburger) and then a drive in-movie. We also went this weekend to the biggest antique and classic car show in the country over the weekend.
I had coupons that I received for a free semi-serious burger with the purchase of another semi-serious burger and a free classic shake with the purchase of a classic shake.
The Drive-in portion of the date however, we’re gonna have to do a rain-check!
This is Cheeburger Cheeburger:
We walked in and the whole restaurant was decked out in 1950’s decor. There were posters and statues of of 1950’s celebrities, such as James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, and actors from the Blues Brothers, as well as I Love Lucy.
This restaurant specializes in…you guessed it: burgers. It also has 1,285 flavor combinations for shakes.
Adam got his burger with, god knows what on it.
I got a plain burger with no bun:
After our burgers we were going to order our shakes, but they claimed that they were not gluten free. Unfortunately, I know that chocolate, vanilla, etc do not contain gluten. I chose to not get a shake because I did not want to risk it having gluten in it.
The burgers were delicious, but the service left much to be desired. The wait times were on the slower side, especially considering that there was only four other tables in the restaurant with more than one waitress. Fortunately we were not in a rush, as we waited for someone to bring our check for 20 minutes.
Hopefully our drive-in goes much better than the dinner!
